second photo assignment

I did my series of photos after seeing the ad campaign for a popular watch company called Nixon. I liked how the photographer used the watch themselves to advertise, but also took photos of people and had them place their hand in paint and stamp the picture. It made it look a lot more personal than just an ad campaign. I thought it made the series look a lot more artistic than simply just an advertisement. I differed from the artist because I looked at the watch from different weird angles, but they also go against the average ad campaign. I placed paint on the hand of a person with what I thought was a good slogan for the watches. I thought it also had the same effect as stamping the picture with the paint. I tried to make the photos look more like an artistic expression but also made sure to incorporate the logo of the product in all the shots.

Kyle Peterson
I couldn’t find the artists name but that is a sight of the photos I was inspired from.

In this photo I mimicked the warm feelings of the hands but made it tuff by putting the paint on only the knuckles.

In this photo instead of advertising the brand like most ad campaigns I tried to make a more artistic view of an everyday product by showing the repetition that is present in the groves of the watch.

In this photo I tried to make the brand name and logo the most seen thing by placing it in the background and foreground of the photo.

In this photo I placed the watch under a spot light and had the room dark so the watch goes from a white blur into a recognizable watch.
In this photo I used a fish eye like lens to make the logo look as prominent as possible by making it pop out the most at the viewer in the rule of fourths.

In this photo I tried to make the numbers in the watch sharp and the logo on the hour hand of the watch while blurring the actual name of the company imprinted in the top of the watch and the numbers in the front to show depth because the watch almost looks as if it could be big enough to hang on a wall.
